3.5. Block of Boring Storefronts

Inspiration—if that's an appropriate word to use in this circumstance—is drawn from the architectural style that seemed to be the most prevalent in Jersey City shortly after the turn of the century, as shown below; note in particular the utterly plain window heads (the part across the top, which is usually decorative, if only a little). This boring look goes on and on for mile after mind-numbing mile.

In order to model it effectively, one must utilize the most boring Design Preservation Models kits made. Two of the three storefronts below are Bruce's Bakery, one of DPM's most truly boring kits. The third is a mash-up, with the upper-story windows from the Corner Apothecary sandwiched between the storefront and cornice sliced from Hayes Hardware.

To add just a touch of interest, I tacked on a tiny addition, as one would expect in a place where every square foot of useable space is put to use.
