3.3. Water Tower
The water tower is a highly modified Republic Locomotive Works Nn3 kit. When I started assembling it, I immediately ran into problems—I strongly suspect RLW never test-built this kit! The instructions, as well as their product image, were their HO Scale version, and the tank assembly proved to be quite impossible.
So, I constructed a brand new tank by cladding a length of PVC pipe with individual pieces of strip wood, with homemade pin striping for the bands. I also added a pumphouse made from parts left over from the oil tank kit.
