2.6. Backwoods Territory
Depots
Admittedly quarry railroads didn't haul passengers, but I decided to use modeler's license and add a bit more character to G&RB. This little depot is exactly what I'm after for Greystone.
Here's a good candidate for Rock Bottom, which I could model as a converted boxcar.
Backwoods Town
This lonely road is how I envision Rock Bottom, dotted with ramshackle shanty homes and maybe one general store.
I may add one of these for kicks...
Grist Mill
I knew from the outset that the layout would have a grist mill (animated, of course). My research has helped me capture an authentic feel; of the dozens of reference images I've collected, this one is closest to what I had in mind.
