4.3.3. Siding Industries: Oil Dealer
The oil dealer followed a curious history. Originally, tanks from an oil dealer kit were added to Central Valley Model Works. On the other side of the track, I'd built a little freight depot as my substitute for John Allen's lumber yard.
Dissatisfied with its look, I finally took a stab at building a lumber yard, but ultimately rejected it as well.
So, I flipped the tanks across the track to become an oil dealer—more or less as they were originally. This change was easily justified by John Allen's oil dealer, which was added when he began his final layout.
The transformation back to oil dealer was completed by simply adding a shack for an office and some etched brass details to the tanks.
