4.10. Old Mill and Dam
John Allen had planned on an old mill and dam from the outset.
He finally got around to building them after he'd already begun expanding the layout.
For my version of the mill, I began with a laser0cut wood kit of a hardware store, and bashed it into shape.
I animated the wheel using a micro-gearhead motor.
The dam was made from old Chooch N Scale stone retaining walls.
I also added a modified Märklin street light as well as a figure in homage to the original.
Although the scenes aren't identical, they're very similar in atmosphere.
