2.5. Control Panel

With a layout that's nearly one-third the size of the original, it was a squeeze getting everything to fit on a control panel located where John Allen had planned. I made it completely modern, starting with artwork that I rendered with drawing software, printed out on self-adhesive paper, and covered with laminating film for protection. The label was applied to thick black sheet styrene. Miniature toggles saved space.

The throttle was a homemade PWM unit, powered by a battery pack built into the back of the layout.

The layout renaming required completely dismantling the panel and replacing the artwork.
