Lighting Effects: Theater Marquee
For the James River Branch I built a pretty sophisticated Z Scale theater marquee using Miller Engineering animated sign components. So that's got me thinking about doing something similar for the Strand Theatre in Lambertville, even though the place was closed long before my modeling era. And while it never had chaser lights, who's to say it didn't get some during a facelift, since in my reality the place was still going in the early 1980s?
One thing I won't do is use Miller Engineering animated signs: they're not realistic, they're dim, and they get dimmer over time. I'll roll my own with LEDs and fiber optics.
