Locomotives: Mesta Machine Works 0-6-0T

Reference

Built by H K Porter in August 1920 as Mesta Machine Works #5, this little girl has a long history. It was sold by Mesta to Birmingham Rail & Locomotive Co. in 1932, who then sold it to the Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal as #14 in 1935. Railtours bought it in 1964 and ran it as Maryland & Pennsylvania #14, then sold it to BR&W in 1965. On the BR&W, she saw occasional freight and passenger service in the early years, but she was hard on the track; by 1968 became a static display, until she was sold to Ulster & Delaware Railroad Historical Society in 1993, who is restoring her as BEDT #14.

The Model

If I'm ambitious, I'll start with an ancient Atlas 0-6-0T for the shell, add handrails and a few other details, and sacrifice a Bachmann 2-6-2 for the wheels and siderods. Since it'll be a static display, it won't need to run.
