Originally this was going to be a McDonald's as an excuse to use the nifty-looking Vollmer kit. However, the style of the kit, while superficially retro in feel, was too modern. And I wasn't about to tackle scratchbuilding a 70s-80s style McD's...
So, I switched gears. Not far from the McD's is a Burger King, which today is a modern box just like McD's. Back in the early 1980s, it probably looked like the old Life-Like kit, which I also had.
The Model
Since this is a foreground structure, it's going to take a lot of work to make the kit acceptable: it's bare-bones at best, an empty shell with large windows revealing a barren interior.
