Episode 6: Shore Leave

SYNOPSIS
After the long trip through the wormhole, the crew is in serious need of R&R, which is provided by a beautiful alien planet upon which they just happen to stumble. But there is always something sinister at every turn.
COMMENTARY
I'd had this episode in mind for quite a long time, and was waiting for just the right moment to make it happen. Some aspects of it are rather predictable, and that's okay, since "real" shows can be likewise. But friends who watched it confessed they did not see the ending coming. They predicted the big event, but expected it to be treated comically. Which is exactly what I wanted to happen. Incidentally, it took me nearly a week to create just the death scene.
I also wanted to take the time to flesh out the secondary characters a bit more, particularly Toobee and Roler. As it happens, I was able to build the nurse's personality as well. And giving Ufa helium to breathe started a whole running gag for the rest of the series.
