Episode 13: The Bold and the Insane

SYNOPSIS
Faced with orders from H.Q. to not engage the Rogue Clobbernauts, Captain Dicker decides to fight fire with fire, and goes Rogue himself. Who is with him?
COMMENTARY
Given that this was supposed to be the second season premiere episode, it's loaded to the hilt with Big Changes. Among them is a shuffling of characters: Feline replaces Ufa as Communications Officer, and Ufa is promoted to Ship's Counsellor. But the Big Story on Action News tonight is that Dicker decides to break with H.Q. and go rogue himself.
With such a glut of story elements to juggle, it was no trouble packing the episode to the gills with everything including the kitchen sink. I was careful to lace the more serious stuff with subtle humor: pay attention to what Dicker has to say about the role of Ship's Counsellor. In the end I don't think it had enough humor, but it still seems to hold together pretty well.
Technically this episode marks a big change: I completely re-rendered all of the artwork to both improve quality and make production more streamlined. I even changed some characters; in particular, I redesigned Nurse Spandex. Originally she was hyper-sexualized as a way to poke fun at Kim Kardashian and her wannabes. With a shift toward more human characters, I made her a "thick" woman, with believable proportions. I'd wanted to eventually continue the shift and make her more of a "BBW," but I'd never get the chance.
