Cast of Characters: Mona

Mona is the object of David's affection, although Mona has yet to respond romantically to his overtures. She insist she is too young for him, and owing to his heart condition, she fears he'll fall dead any minute now (which is a reflection of reality). She's late fifty-something, versus his seventy-something, so there is enough of a gap to potentially be bothersome. Thing is, she's going through treatment for breast cancer, so she's got enough on her mind without having to deal with a relationship... even though having a built-in caregiver could improve matters considerably. (I speak from experience in this respect.)

After her makeover, Veronica (her boss at the florist shop) became a changed woman, and she kinda nudged Mona along enough that she agreed to a little "light dating." She also had a makeover by Emma, albeit not quite as extreme as Ronnie's. Emma did at least convince her to try a wig, which Mona had refused to do. David certainly had no objections... Their first date will be made available in a forthcoming episode, "Better Late than Never." By interesting coincidence, there is a tune played at the bar by the same name.
