Cast of Characters: David
This is the one and only character based on a real person, and that would be me. By curious coincidence, the Voicemaker voice I chose is also named David, and there is a vague resemblance. And as far as the story goes, there are strange parallels between my real life and the one portrayed on screen. I sort of blend reality with storytelling in curious ways. Aspects of how my work has been received on YouTube is accurately portrayed, but in a reality-versus-fantasy twist, the series treats episode creation as if it was the real deal. Indeed, it's really mind-bendingly difficult to pin down exactly where those four walls are. It's a style of storytelling I used in Lightspeed Drifting: to completely blur the distinction between show production and the reality it represents. The characters frequently blurt out comments such as how well audiences might receive a particular joke, or how uncomfortable their costume was, or concerns about their salaries, all while performing their roles as if they really were space explorers.
And so, immersed in this duality between life and fantasy-land, I struggle to produce a show about struggling to produce a show. Many of my real-life hurdles find their way to the screen, along with loads of complete nonsense.
