Birds of the Sanctuary: Red-Bellied Woodpecker

Rounding out my generous family of woodpeckers is the Robin-sized Red-Bellied Woodpecker, its name derived from a faint peach-colored patch on its lower belly. I've seen upwards of four or five pairs. They like sunflower seeds and peanuts.

Females are identical, save for a gap in the red-orange on its head.
