Birds of the Sanctuary: Downy WoodpeckerMy property is home to many different woodpecker species. Downy Woodpeckers are virtually identical to Hairy Woodpeckers except in size; these little guys are about the size of sparrows. They're most attracted to suet and peanuts. The only difference between genders is a patch of red on the back of the male's head. Cooper's Hawk < Return > Eastern PhoebeCopyright © 2017-2022 by David K. Smith. All Rights Reserved.
