Grump Central Archive: Week of 27 June 2021

Saturday, 3 July 2021

Once again I'm watching time scream past, and wondering how I'm supposed to enjoy anything when everything is so transitory and fleeting.

Friday, 2 July 2021

The other day I emerged from my office to see what looked for all the world like a bright light had been installed in the riser of the top step. It was of course just a patch of sunlight shining on the riser, but the illusion it created was still startling. Such is the extent of the excitement in my life most days. (Trust me, I like it this way—I do not need or want any drama.)

Thursday, 1 July 2021

If my posts are a little wacky lately—with days and dates all mixed up—I've been sleep-deprived the last few days, and I've nodded off with the computer mouse in my hand and no recollection of what I'd done. Yesterday I noticed the day and date were wrong, and the archived posts were likewise jumbled. I think I've got it under control now, so I can carry on with today's post, reasonably confident that today is indeed today. And in today's news, the above trailer is no longer mine. It now belongs to my mailperson and her husband, who have agreed to help clean up the property in exchange. Evidently the mailperson's husband is handy, and was not put off by the trailer's terrible condition—he intends to refurbish it. More power to him! Everyone goes home happy!

Wednesday, 30 June 2021

I may need to hire a neighbor to grab my mail for me—I sure as hell will not be taking a 1.65-mile walk when it's 91° with 75% humidity.

Tuesday, 29 June 2021

Temps revised upwards.

Monday, 28 June 2021

Yep, it's summer. Hot enough I need to run my AC—now, that's hot.

Sunday, 27 June 2021

I wish I could sleep like that.
