Yet another glorious day yesterday. Although it got cloudy in the afternoon, it was still close to 50. I took a walk to the mailbox just to enjoy it. Heavy rain and highs in the 50s are predicted for the weekend, so what little snow is left will soon be gone.

Another glorious day yesterday—not quite as balmy as Wednesday, but warm enough to let me see something I haven't laid eyes on in a month. Time to order pizza!

Yesterday was just as predicted. And it was glorious. During my walk in the afternoon, I saw some green plants beginning to sprout. After a couple of days in the mid-40s, we're supposed to have more of the same. Early spring? Oh, and as for my takeout order, it was a bust: the driver got lost trying to find me. Called me from a development several blocks away, and I had to talk him all the way in (this is the first time this has happened in years—everyone else has found me). Food was cold by the time I got it. That'll be my last Uber Eats order!

I realize that weather prognostication is an imperfect science, but seriously, three days ago there was supposedly a 100% chance of snow for Monday. Then, two days ago it changed to a 100% chance of rain. Monday morning, the forecast called for cloudy skies, with no precipitation expected. What actually happened? It snowed. And then it rained. And then it turned to freezing rain. Well, I guess if you throw enough stuff at the wall, something will stick...

I was quite amazed. Yesterday an Amazon driver made it up to the house. I watched the truck come up the length of my still-snow-covered driveway without slipping once. When I approached the truck, I was greeted by a young woman. I congratulated her for her achievement, thanked her for the delivery, and watched her turn around and head back out, again without slipping once. I think her male colleagues could learn a thing or two from her—not one of whom was able to do what she did.

Looking forward to next Wednesday, when the high is predicted to be nearly 50. Meanwhile, I'm madly splitting wood to help with the next two nights in the teens.
