Summer ends this weekend. And as the summer weather begins to fade, so do my hopes of getting the house done this year. Actually, at this point it's almost entirely dependent on my architect's willingness to produce revised prints in a timely manner. But at what cost...?

I've finally heard from my architect; we've set a tentative meeting for this Friday. The question then becomes, how long to revise the drawings? It took months to get the first set, and everything hangs on the new prints.

Yesterday I made an unfortunate discovery: portions of the roof have started to rot out. I've also learned that standing seam steel is about twice as expensive as I'd thought; the roof alone is going to take almost 30% of my remaining budget.

Coming back into the project, I knew full well that I'd be faced with speed bumps. But I honestly didn't foresee so, so many. It's disheartening, and I'm feeling quite overwhelmed at the moment.

After enduring close to two weeks of rain, we're supposed to get a couple of days of sunshine before the remnants of Florence descends on us, bringing more heavy rain.
