T-minus five days. Instead of being happy or relieved, I'm actually terrified. What if I won't get enough to finish my house? Kind of silly to worry about it so far in advance, but that's the way my tortured brain works.

T-minus six days. The first thing I did was call my excavator to inform him we may soon be getting back to work, and one of the first orders of business will be installing permanent electric service. Meanwhile, one of the curses of a common name is having to certify that none of the 212 David Smiths that turned up in a judgment search were me. I've had to face an unfortunate fact: I've gotten fat! A sedentary lifestyle, exacerbated by depression, has resulted in the biggest weight gain of my life. Two years ago I was trim and fit, with the closest thing to a six-pack as I've ever had, thanks to a full-time job working on my house. Time to do something about this...
