Seat cushions. Also... for my three modeling fans (sorry, I missed one yesterday!), there are six new videos and a new photo gallery online. You can find them listed here.

It's me and my furry granddaughter watching another week fly by. And for the one or at most two interested visitors, I improved my field of fireflies effect.

Zack tries to take a selfie. In other news... 126 pages and 833 images later, the The Gorre & Daphetid: The Lost Blog is ready for prime time. It's hardcore pron for Z Scale modelers—or Zed-heads, as they're known to some. Also, I resurrected some of my 1:450 blog; in particular, it offers a glimpse into some of the insane, intense drama that erupted toward the end of my involvement with T Gauge. While I was at it, I resurrected a handful of surviving posts from 1:160 and 1:220, my N and Z Scale modeling blogs.

Just a wee touch of normal: here's me and my pal Glenn venturing out to our favorite watering hole. In other news, I uncovered another big bunch of my old online modeling junk, courtesy of the Wayback Machine. I hadn't realized that it crawled Blogger, and there deep in its recesses I discovered it had not only saved some bits of my Gorre & Daphetid blog that I didn't have in the backup, it also captured random chunks of five other old modeling blogs of mine—honestly, I don't recall being such a prolific blogger. But it's probably not worth recovering: who could possibly be interested in decade-old modeling commentary?

Beware of the giant floating cat head! In other news, there's been an interesting development on the modeling front: whilst reorganizing my archive of modeling files on my PC, I discovered some files I had no clue existed. Once upon a time, back when I was building my Z Scale Gorre & Daphetid, I documented its construction online in real time. However, I was looking for a way to gather visitor comments, something traditional web publishing couldn't do, so I used Blogger. As regulars will recall, I had a run-in with the NMRA over the use of the layout name, at which point I blew away the blog. And I thought that was that: it was all gone. But... it seems I downloaded a backup of the blog just when the infamous takedown occurred, something I totally forgot. Over the intervening years, I've received comments from modelers expressing their regrets for the loss of the blog... and now I'll be able to reconstruct at least half of it (regrettably I didn't download the rest of the posts after I renamed the layout and finished it). The process will take some time—I have to convert "Blogger code" into regular HTML, as well as resurrect all of the images, but I believe it'll be worth the effort. Besides, it'll offer opportunities to take breaks from modeling, which is helpful as I can too easily get obsessed by projects—and then burn out. So, Zed-heads, something old and interesting this way comes...

Zack gettin' just what he wants: gettin' his hairs on my black shirt. Also... I can now go see a movie at a drive-in without leaving the house.

It's kitties... in stereo! Meanwhile, I'm playing projectionist.
