Rain is called for every other day for the next week. After tonight's rain, it's supposed to dip down to freezing again. The kitties are glad that I prefer to keep the place on the toasty side lately (one of the symptoms of heart failure).

The forecast for last night was revised lower: 29°. When my furry grandkids got me up at 4:30 AM (slightly later than usual), it was 33°. Time for a fire! Sure hope the leaves weren't nipped...

Thankfully it hasn't gotten nearly as cold as was predicted, but tomorrow morning is still forecast to be freezing. I sure hope they're wrong, because that could do damage to the leaves that are already out.

Oh gee, guess what? It's raining again. But more wacky weather is on the way: tonight there's a frost advisory, and Thursday night it's supposed to drop to freezing.

Yesterday was something of a nail-biter: heavy rain and strong winds with frightening gusts beginning the night before and lasting all day. It was a bit nerve-wracking to hear tree branches dropping on the steel roof at random intervals, although thankfully there was no damage, and not even a power outage.

Things are getting greener faster. I'm not complaining that spring is coming sooner, but it is worrisome. I'm actually thankful I won't be around to see the full effect of global warming on our planet.

It's a little strange not working on the house. At times I feel a little guilty; most of the rest of the time, however, I'm enjoying the freedom of not having to worry about it.
