Back to real-time: yesterday I caught this guy just chilling at the bottom of the ravine. It was a beautiful day... and tonight it's supposed to drop to a scratch above freezing. I'm not psychologically ready for that just yet.

Since the pandemic is picking off the people I'm still able to see, I've been reconnecting with a few old friends online. It's a good thing the pandemic can't screw up email—there aren't many people left for me to hang onto anymore.

Today's image is white dogwood, my favorite woodland flower. Unlike personal memories, which these days unfortunately carry strong bittersweet overtones, seeing dogwood creates a subtle, "safe" sense of joy.
