That's me at seventeen during one of the worst periods of my life. I'm now somewhat more at peace after having completed my memoir. I may add more, I may not. If not, it's fine as it is. Oh, and the song by Janice Ian is a favorite—adjusted for gender, it describes me at that age disturbingly well.

Taken in the summer of 1975 (or thereabouts), this is the cabin on Bearcamp Pond in New Hampshire where I spent nearly two dozen summers and countless other vacations. It's one of the reasons I'm still alive. I'm going down memory lane for the purpose of writing a memoir, which I'll be releasing in the coming days. Note that it won't be for the faint of heart.

Over the weekend I managed to complete a modeling effect that I've been wanting to do practically since I got into the hobby over five decades years ago: an animated waterfall. Here are all of the boring details on exactly how this was done.
