Snow is on the way: we're expecting 1-2 inches tonight. Strangely, one year ago today the high was 63! The only constant is that the weather remains truly strange. My only hope is that the snow does not interfere with the planned installation of the heat pump compressor tomorrow...

Headed for the deep freeze tonight. I'm thankful I have at least some heat in the house—it will be interesting to see what it's like after a couple of nights in the teens.

I'm bracing myself for snow. There's a vague chance of it today, and a much stronger possibility of it on Saturday—the day before I'm supposed to have my heat pump finished...

The cold is coming... snow is predicted for next weekend, along with lows in the teens. Insulation and heat are getting wrapped up just in time! But that doesn't solve the problem of well hookup...

It only took around four years to install, but better late than never: The Grump Central Weather Station. This is a full-bore, soup-to-nuts system that will allow me to monitor all meteorological conditions in real time.

I'm halfway to having heat in the house. Good timing: colder weather is on the way, although daytime highs will still be above freezing for the foreseeable future. Actually, my interest in meteorology inspired me to purchase a big, fancy weather station about five years ago, and now at last I have an opportunity to install the darned thing! Stand by for the Grump Central Weather Channel...

Today I'm supposed to have the HVAC system installed. This will be the last big-ticket item I'll be able to complete for a while, as it will tap me dry. I do have some additional funding in the works, but it may take months to secure, and it still won't be enough to finish the house. So, 2019 is already off to a rocky start...
