I'm in a serious funk. Can't motivate myself to do squat. Part of it is burnout from the special film project, but it's also chronic depression rearing its ugly head again. Normally some "kitty therapy" would help but, unfortunately, seeing my kids in the camper these days has the opposite effect—they belong in the house.

September through the years—seven of them—reveals the (unsteady) progression of my home, from just before I bought the property to yesterday.

Spent the day yesterday decompressing from the preceding four days of intense work. Now comes the mopping up process, and I have no idea how involved that will be. Above, Bobby finds a "watering hole" of sorts to catch a quick drink.

The bulk of the heavy lifting on the film project is done—several days ahead of schedule. Which means I can breathe a sigh of relief, kick back, and enjoy the ride from here on out. It also means I can get back to work on the house which, three years ago today, looked very different.

Yesterday we finally had a storm, and I could see for myself how the gutter system worked—and it worked just as I'd planned. A year ago today, I was tinkering with the HVAC system, and I wasn't as lucky: I had to rebuild most of the system to get it functioning adequately. But I got there, eventually. Persistence pays off. Meanwhile, I'm still hammering away on a film soundtrack—a case where persistence is everything.

The weather lately has been really nice, which is a little annoying because, for one, I've been stuck chained to my computer working on sound design for my new client, with a few more days left to go, and two, the new gutters I put up still have not seen any use other than to collect leaves. Today's image provides a glimpse of where things stood exactly one year ago today. A little freaky to think I live here now.

26 April 2016 is when my hallway, a.k.a. The Grand Gallery, first started taking shape. Today, save for spackle and paint, it's done, and better than I'd imagined it could be. Today I'm also working on a motion picture, something I've wanted to do my entire life and never expected to have happen. Better late than never!
