Grump Central Archive: Week of 7 April 2019
Saturday, 13 April 2019. It's being Seattle here again. I'm sick of all this rain.
Friday, 12 April 2019. Another unproductive week has crept by. I remain seized by depression. I should be really bothered by this, but I'm not—at least not enough to change anything.
Thursday, 11 April 2019. A landmark day three years ago: I installed the 28-foot long 2x12 ridge beam for the garage. That was quite a challenge! Today I face a different challenge: how to finish the house. If it's even possible.
Wednesday, 10 April 2019. What a beautiful day it was three years ago today. I wouldn't mind being transported back to that time—I was active, fit, and blissfully ignorant of the nightmare that was just around the corner...
Tuesday, 9 April 2019. On this day in 2016, I'd nearly completed framing the walls of the first level. Three years later, things are looking "good," but I'm nowhere near where I'd expected to be by now. Wacky weather indeed.
Monday, 8 April 2019. On this day in 2016, the concrete crew was digging holes for the deck footings. Today I wonder if I'll ever get to build that deck...
Sunday, 7 April 2019. Spent some of the day yesterday helping a friend replace his mailbox after it had been demolished by a drunk driver the night before. I also received a surprise gift in the mail from a modeler—proof that there are still some genuinely nice people on the planet.
