Company Profile: Swift Line

History in a Nutshell

Swift Line is a very small, long-gone company based in Duarte, California, that made HO and N Scale freight car and structure kits. These were typical craftsman-style kits that included raw materials such as strip wood, printed siding sheets, and some detail parts. The kits came in plain cardboard boxes with small labels for the company name and photos of the finished models; instruction illustrations were hand-drawn.

N Scale Products

Kits A6151, Engine House, and A6251, Main Street; there were several others.

Printed Matter

A June 1966 "Trade Topics" entry in Model Railroader established their presence in the N Scale market fairly early. However, there are no other mentions of the company other than a single advertisement for Con-Cor.
