Made it through to the end of the day yesterday before realizing Lowe's never showed up with my dryer. So now I've got to spend some quality time on the phone with them. Meanwhile, I'm a rocking fool, having completed the bathroom and moving on to the laundry. It'll be interesting to see how far I get today. At least the weather is a lot nicer inside!

As is usually the case these days, things are happening in spurts. With the arrival of the sheetrock, I have a shot at finishing the laundry so I can install the new-new washer and dryer for good. Meanwhile, today's mood-improver is a group shot of sleeping four-day-old kitties, with Zack, Roy and Pris being super-ultra-cute while their Mommy takes a much-needed break.

Wednesday was get-stuff-lined-up day. Sheetrock arrives (finally) this afternoon, and the new-new dryer arrives tomorrow. Which makes today get-stuff-prepared day. And today's mood-improver was taken a day after yesterday's; Zack is out front, Pris is behind him, and Roy is buried under all the fur beneath my fingers.

Looks like I'll be getting the new-new dryer in a couple of days. Meanwhile, I'm bracing myself for the onslaught of really hot, humid weather. Today started at 4 AM with a thunder and lightning show, accompanied by a downpour of Biblical proportions—I had to fire up the AC to just knock the humidity back. The only good news is that it's supposed to be sunny for the next 7-8 days, although temps will be in the 90s. Summer sure is here already. As a mood-improver, here's Zack when he was just a week old.

The weekend was the first rain-free period we've had in over a week, and so it's not surprising to see loads of mushrooms and other wet-loving plants emerge. A couple more rainy days are on the way, and then we're supposed to enjoy up to a week of sun. I'm looking forward to enjoying more outdoor house progress.

New day, new washer. And a basket of clean clothes, which I'll have to take to the laundromat to dry, but ask me if that bothers me at all. A new dryer will be forthcoming. Incidentally, the delivery men made the observation this is a really good machine—and they ought to know, since they're the ones that cart away the lemons.
