A low of 36 last night is predicted to be followed by a high in the 50s today, which is most welcome! Meanwhile, as I'd predicted back in November last year, when this whole mess started going down, the buyers have offered to expand their monthly "allowance." My lawyer has advised them that is unacceptable. Of course, this happens on a Friday afternoon—as it nearly always does—leaving two days of inactivity before any further progress. I really hate weekends.

Given the lack of progress on the property contract, I advised my lawyer to inform the buyers that my patience is quickly running out, and any further radio silence will result in a cancelled contract. Enough is effing enough.

Radio silence has been half-broken: my lawyer has informed me that he's been unable to get in touch with their lawyer. Which is so typical. That got old a couple of years ago already.

My sympathies go out to those missing a limb—with a mangled left index finger, I've virtually lost the use of my left hand, which severely impacts nearly every ordinary activity. The worst: socks.

Back in the freezer. As the days blend together, I feel as though I've become one of the trees that surround me: alive yet totally still, devoid of thought or feeling, presently bearing the outward appearance of lifelessness.
