A headline reads, "N.J. residents with high-risk conditions and those 65 and older can get COVID-19 shots starting Thursday." But because I have Sarcoidosis (an autoimmune disorder), there's a high probability I'd experience a very bad reaction to the vaccine. No thanks. Besides, I already have a terminal disease.

After hearing about recent events from friends, I broke my promise to avoid the news. Holy shit! I step away from the news feeds for a couple of weeks, and all hell breaks loose... People thought 2020 was bad; 2021 is off to an even worse start.

Last night it dipped into the teens, overwhelming my heat pump. I was up at 3 AM making a fire. Today I'll need to buy firewood—a strange thing to do living in the woods.
