Living under the threat of imminent death can mess with your head. Example: yesterday afternoon I suffered a long series of PVCs, which left me wondering if my time was up. While I don't fear death per se, the process of dying is still scary AF, since the experience is a total unknown that you can only have once and never remember. I'm still here, though...

About today's image: a year ago I'd just finished getting the siding up on all of the walls visible from the driveway. Alas, the rest of the walls remain unfinished to this day, and given that it would require scaffolding to do some parts, it's highly unlikely to get done before I die.

In happier news, if two days ago anyone told me I'd be willingly listening to Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, I'd have questioned their sanity. But I'm happy to admit I was wrong to assume these artists would never make any music I'd genuinely enjoy. As a bonus, the videos are great, too, especially Billie's—some folks are gaga over that frog...

So, I finished my short film for the competition—twelve hours ahead of the deadline—and I'll be submitting it this morning. The subject I've chosen for the work is my heart condition. Should be interesting to see how it's received.
